The Law Office of Cheryl L Christopher, P.C., is a law firm founded 26 years ago, in January, 1981. Prior to forming her own firm, Mrs. Christopher was an Associate Attorney at Sulmeyer, Kupetz, Baumann & Rothman in Los Angeles, California. Mrs. Christopher has significant bankruptcy and tax consulting experience in corporate, partnership, Limited Liability Company, Limited Liability Partnership and individual matters, at both the federal and state levels. Within the bankruptcy field, her experience includes structuring of complex business transactions, restructuring of mortgages and other collateralized loans, and both corporate and individual reorganizations within the context of Chapters 7, 11 and 13. Her firm has successfully reorganized, discharged or confirmed literally thousands of bankruptcy cases down through its history. Mrs. Christopher’s experience also includes expungement of tax liens, discharge of tax liability, compromise of tax liability, and restructuring of tax liability within the framework of bankruptcy proceedings. She has successfully negotiated numerous I.R.S. offers in compromise.

In addition to her legal background, Mrs. Christopher’s diverse educational background, primarily in finance, accounting and real estate, enabled her to also perform state sales tax bond auditing work and prepare government RFP budget and program proposals for clients in the late 1990’s. Her background further includes real estate work ancillary to her legal work, and she was a practicing licensed California real estate broker from 1991-1999.
Mrs. Christopher graduated from the University of Michigan, at Ann Arbor, with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in history. She graduated from UCLA Law School with her doctorate degree in law. She is a member of the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Los Angeles, as well as the State of California Bar Association.
